Early cabinet photo of an 1896 unknown women's basketball team

Note: There is no way for me to determine if this photo was actually produced in 1896. I assume it's a later printing due to the paper, but a very early print none the less.

This photo was purchased from an estate in Western Pennsylvania and is also featured on the website for Lawrence County (Western PA). The ball includes the 1896 date and the photo was taken by Lawrence V. Kupper, a local photographer that established a photography studio in Edinboro, PA in the late 1880's, where I assume this photo was taken. Edinboro was the home of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (now Pennsylvania Western University), so there's a good chance that's where this team was organized and active.
